Sydney team

The video ends with the word – Unfinished! This word challenged both Trish and I as we watched a video that was made by a short-term team from Sydney that partnered with us during our Christmas outreach ministry.  At the end of the 2 weeks each person was asked to use one word to summarize their experience during this time of ministry in Thailand. Examples of words used were ‘Rewarding, Experiential, Faith, Prayerful, Eye opening, Delicious (referring to the amazing food in Thailand), Humbling, Good, Fruitful, Hope, Blessing, Unity, Hopeful, Exciting and Unfinished. We don’t know what the speaker’s interpretation was when they said unfinished, but for us the word reminded us that the work here in Thailand is still unfinished.

From our time spent with the team and team leader Alice, we know that she is probably feeling the same. She knows that her role in reaching the Thai is unfinished. She attends a church that partners with missionaries who work in Thailand and she is part of a group that meets regularly to pray for Thailand. We thank God for this team and the many who partner with us to see the Thai reached for Jesus. With your prayers and partnership, we hope to one day see all the Thai people worshiping the living God.

Presently OMF has a project called “The task unfinished” which focuses on the need to continue reaching out to the unreached. Below is the chorus from the song “The task unfinished” which is an old OMF song that reminds us why OMF has missionaries working in South East Asia.

We go to all the world
With kingdom hope unfurled
No other name has power to save
But Jesus Christ The Lord

The role of the missionary and the senders is unfinished, there are still billions of people around the world who have not heard the good news of Jesus. We all have a choice: what do we do with “the task unfinished”? We can learn more about the need, we can go as short-term workers, we can pray for the missionaries, we can encourage, pray and support others who have gone, …. What will you do to help in “the task unfinished”?

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?”

Romans 10:13-15

Please let us know what message God has placed on your heart in regard to the call of the task unfinished.
